LEARNERS LAB (New & Improved for Fall 2010)

Have Fun building a Solid Foundation

This is your all around foundational program to get your playing to a confident and solid level. These labs are designed for those who have had an introduction to guitar and know some chords, but need to build a foundation & fill in the gaps! If you want to do our House of Bands programs, you do need to be comfortable on your instrument and have basic skills, and this program will give you that for sure - and more:)

In the Learners labs we learn a bunch of songs and focus on strenghening our Strumming patterns • barre chords • power chords • extended chords • basic riffs • simple finger picking • simple lead lines • finger exercises • basic music theory • rhythm notation and more! You will learn how to play with other people and layer parts together to make great music. From time to time we bring in a drummer and / or bass player to work with you.

WHAT'S NEW FOR FALL 2010?

This program is now 12 weeks long and requires an upfront commitment to the course. After the second week there won't be any students jumping in so you'll all be moving along together in the same boat. It's designed as a complete program, but if you're not ready to go into 'House of Bands' after one course, you can do another. The songs will change and you'll keep progressing.

Examples of SONGS we learn include original backing tracks produced here plus songs from the Rollingstones, Coldplay, The Kinks, Tom Petty, The Shins, The Beatles, Lynard Skynard, Bob Marley, Oasis, Greenday, Van Morrison, Sting, Neil Young, White Stripes, Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, GooGoo Dolls, Nirvana & more!

You can take the Learners Lab on Acoustic or Electric guitar. This program is offered subject to demand so enroll early and tell your friends about it too.
